Ellen Lapham, MBA — Expert on Technology Entrepreneurship and Corporate Management and Strategy
Ellen Lapham is a serial entrepreneur in high technology who has extensive experience in management and corporate strategy. She has advised many early stage companies and raised over $10 million in seed and growth funding and has successfully led venture-funded companies in transition and turnaround. The companies she advised on included a very young Apple Computer on their PR and market strategy. She founded a pioneering digital music firm, Syntauri Corporation; and counseled founders of groundbreaking computer products firms on market building tactics. Today she advises founders and entrepreneurs on actions for success. She was honored by the US State Department and the Small Business Administration for her leadership in building and growing a US-based business with a high degree of international sales around the globe.

Ellen has lectured at Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Carnegie Mellon University and other US universities on management of high tech firms, creativity in business, and digital technology for consumer applications. She holds an MBA from Stanford with a focus on Finance and a Bach. Industrial Design with honors from Syracuse University. She has participated in Harvard Law School's Negotiations Project and Stanford's Program on Managing Innovation.

She is on the board of the American Alpine Club and chairs their international Conservation Committee. Ellen advises the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology on strategy and measurement of programs impact; she chaired the Anita Borg Award for the Social Impact of Technology. She has chaired the international meetings of the Committee of 200 and the International Women's Forum. She has also chaired the board of the Trust for Hidden Villa, a leading environmental education and social justice organization in Silicon Valley. Ellen is an avid mountain climber who has lectured across the country on leadership, risk taking and goal setting.
